When there is sufficient demand from International MediYoga instructors to continue their training and qualify as yoga therapists, we will launch a therapist course in English.

The MediYoga therapist and -teacher course will enable you to work as a therapist using yoga as a tool, and to be able to teach both open classes and rehabilitation groups and to provide individual guidance as a yoga therapist.

The course also aims to communicate a profound individual experience of yoga and meditation and what these age old techniques can offer in terms of health, balance and consciousness when practised intensively on a regular basis.

What is a MediYoga therapist and -teacher?

A MediYoga therapist and -teacher can hold classes as a yoga teacher,
hold mixed therapeutic rehab classes and organise private, individual sessions with yoga as a tool.

At the end of the course, participants will also have mastered:

• The importance of breathing and various yogic breathing techniques.
• Numerous different yoga exercises as a tool for restoring health.
• Understand people as energy beings via e.g. the Chakra system.
• Be able to diagnose the root cause of imbalance, from an energy perspective, that leads to physical, mental and emotional ill health.
• Understand in theory and practice how MediYoga and certain fundamental aspects of ayurveda, can be coordinated to complement and reinforce each other in establishing health.
• Practical knowledge of how a yogic therapist works, ethically and educationally.
• Basic marketing, to learn how to market your services, liability insurance and other practical information.

Goal

The MediYoga therapist and -teacher course is designed to enable you to work as a therapist using yoga as a tool, and to be able to teach both open classes and rehabilitation groups and to provide individual guidance as a yoga therapist.

The course also aims to communicate a profound individual experience of yoga and meditation and what these age old techniques can offer in terms of health, balance and consciousness when practised intensively on a regular basis.

Structure

The course is structured into three terms over a total of 30 full days split into five two-day sessions per term.

A total of around 750 hours, including 210 hours of scheduled classroom time and 540 hours of theoretical home study, practical individual training and your own work with clients, students and groups. The course covers theory, training and practical work. Between get-togethers, participants work independently with their own talking therapy sessions with clients and hold classes.

Who can apply?

Applicants to the MediYoga therapist and -teacher course must have completed the MediYoga Instructor course.

Graduation

On successful completion, you will be awarded a diploma and a MediYoga therapist pin. The following is required to graduate:
– An MediYoga Instructor Diploma
– Attend all teacher led sessions
– Pass practical and theory examinations
– You have instructed your own rehab groups
– You have had AT LEAST 25 individual sessions outside lesson time that are presented to the teacher
– Have signed the ethical guidelines that apply for yoga therapists

Materials

The following materials are included in the course:
o Compendia, yoga programmes etc. that are sent by mail and/or distributed in compendium form by the teacher on class days.
o Recordings of each course day that are posted on the internet.
o Diploma (required to graduate)
o Yoga Therapist Pin (required to graduate)

Cost

$2,700 or €2,100 per term

The course fee is payable in advance, no later than four weeks before the first meeting. Much of the course material will be available to download from our database.

Insurance

All MediYoga International teachers and instructors have full liability cover.

Payment terms and conditions

You will receive an invoice for $350 or €250 by post within two weeks of confirmation of your place on the course. This is a registration fee that secures your place.

You will then receive an invoice for the remaining balance of $2,350 or €1,850, which should be paid no later than four weeks before the course starts.

The registration fee will not be refunded if you cancel less than two weeks before the start of the course. An administration charge of $100 or €75 will be deducted from cancellation refunds made earlier than this.

If you discontinue the course after the start of term, the course fee for the rest of the course will only be repayable on submission of a doctor’s certificate showing valid grounds for this.
